BBC Look East feature the newly opened Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown walk at Madingley Hall as part of CB300 celebrations

BBC Look East visited Madingley Hall to film a news piece about the opening of the Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown Tercentenary Walk, which featured on BBC One on 30 March 2016. You can watch the news piece again on BBC iPlayer. The Madingley Hall item starts just after 19 minutes.

Acting Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, Professor Sir Mike Gregory, unveiled the Madingley Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown Tercentenary Walk at the Institute Open Day on Maundy Thursday.

Visitors are welcome to walk round the grounds including the new walk during daylight hours but are asked not to enter the Hall, Courtyard or Walled Garden which are private. Picnics, games, radios and dogs are not permitted in the grounds.

The Walk will be accessible at the Open Garden for the National Gardens Scheme on Sunday 5 June, 2.30 to 5.30 and Open Cambridge, Friday 9 September, 2.00 to 7.00pm.

A Capability Brown Conference: Moving Heaven and Earth will be held at the Hall from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 August 2016.
